So I get home from swim practice and as I’m walking into the garage I see that the leaf’s bay garage door is closed but the trunk was partially open. I was like wtf. I closed the trunk and was so afraid to open the garage and see the damage. Just ugh, how does this even happen?! How can you not see that the trunk is still open as the garage is going down?! I don't know which of my parents did it, but I'm assuming it's my dad as he was the one who drove it last. Should this be relatively easily fixed?

Is this the damage? A bit of touch-up paint will fix it. You’ll still be able to notice it but it will look 80% better and prevent rust from starting there.

Yeah that is the damage. I think the main thing is preventing rust form happening. Once rust starts happing I feel like it would start to take out all the paint around it. >_<

It’s a Leaf? Any chance that panel is aluminum?
Also, if the car is black, I wouldn’t even bother with touchup paint...grab a Sharpie marker and get to it.

Yeah, depending on how good of an end result you want, touching up a paint chip like this can be as simple as “clean the area, then hit it with a touch-up pen” to “sand it down to smooth out the chip edges, prime, sand, paint, sand, clear, sand, polish, wax.”

It is a leaf. Not sure if it’s aluminum though.
And the car is a dark grey... So that won't work haha!

Dr. Color chip, look up YouTube videos on how to properly prep and fill in the chip.

Could be worse. My grandma once backed her Town and Country out of the garage before the garage door was fully open. Damaged the bottom panel of the door and peeled the roof rack off the van. I don’t even remember how much it was to fix the van’s roof.
